Hotels are paid loggings for a short period of time. They offer apartments with all the facilities like toilet and bathrooms. Meal is also included into the price of the accommodation. Depending on the star rating of the hotel (2-, 3-, 4-, 5-star hotels) a person may get one to three meals a day, as well as additional facilities like air conditioning, climate control, telephone, an alarm clock, cable TV, Internet connection, a view, snack foods and drinks in a mini-bar and the like.
Food may also be specifically ordered into the room. In this case it is included in your bill and certain tips are customary for the waiters. Hotels may constitute chains: when there are hotels of the same brand name in several cities or countries. All the large hotels operate restaurants in the same building. There are different types of hotels, like treehouse, cave, capsule, ice and snow, and underwater hotels. Hotels are usually built at most popular destinations, such as resorts, historic places, casinos, or at the railway and bus stations.
For motorists on long journeys there are motels - small inns which offer direct access from the apartment to the vehicle. They are usually low-quality rooms with almost no facilities.
